i remember now

i wanted some adapters to change a bayonet light fitting to a screw-in light fitting. oh my days what a drama that descended into, involving a long faff looking at the computerised stock levels, hunt out back "it says we've got three on stock but we haven't", three stores, numerous phone calls, waiting for the other store to call back. payment problems, blah blah blah

it would have been easier to lob the original lights in the bin and buy some new ones.
