In that scenario, anything other than abject humiliation by Cameron is a "win" for millipede and a "loss" for Cameron.
Milipede is a very bright man with a genuinely impressive grasp of policy. But he can't do presentation. It's ironic that people often say they want substance over style, but then vote for e.g. Blair but not Brown (a very, very awkward man to work with but you can't deny his brilliance intellectually).
Cameron is also a very bright man and much more small-l-liberal than most of his party (who don't really trust him for a number of reasons, that being one).
Both are led by the pettifogging detail of endless wonkery and focus group feedback, not the kind of broad stroke ideology that would really ignite proper debate about the kind of country we want to live in.
But that's just me.
