There's also the software update thingy

Unplug the box, leave it for a bit, at the same time you plug the box back in hold down the backup button on the box until you get a black screen with 'this could take up to 10minutes'. I it will shut itself down when it's done. Again, leave it for 10 minutes before turning it back on again (this won't affect the planner).
