There's a lot of things that are easy to avoid and don't disrupt your life
For example the recycling of bottles, glasses and plastic. Not using plastic bags in supermarkets, I think it is fair and good to do all that even if you regular use a plane. At least you are contributing something. There's not really a decent alternative to plane travel, especially in South America.
