I guess you're right about it not being a stitch-up as such, perhaps it's more an example of the naivity of youth & perils of social media and losing the context of what's said. Vast majority of that stuff would have been firmly tongue in cheek (eg the Le Pen reference would have been dripping with sarcasm).
