It was a massive blow not having a replacement for O'Neil. I think Whittaker's performance in the first few minutes dictated things. Every time he got the ball he played it long to the left wing irrespective of whether Lafferty was there or not. He did not have any defensive midfield options on the bench and was never going to change it while the score was so tight.
