my experience too...

wifes mother has been in home for 18 months effectively in a "living coma" ie she is awake but can't do anything for herself and is oblivious to anything outside her sleeping/eating needs - so staff do it all for her. They are clearly overworked and underpaid - do their absolute best most of the time but have down times (like anyone doing a tough job) and can be frustrated or impatient just once in while - but I've never seen anything remotely resembling the article content but, hey its in the Mail - so it must be true?! in particular really impresses they go the extra 500 miles to make Xmas Day special even though she has no idea what day it is!
