We sort of already do get it both ways.

The site owner has already made clear that he doesn't consider the contributions of one user to be welcome, and he's put that chap onto the site-wide, opt-outable ignore filter (the scum filter). (which, just to nip a spurious but popular counterargument in the bud, doesn't impinge on anybody's rights to free speech in any way, in the slightest).

But he's ignoring the other identities used by exactly the same person to make exactly the same kind of contributions. I can see three likelihoods:

* he can't be arsed to stick the alt accounts on the scum filter. Fair enough, it's ben's site, he can do what he likes. But it'd be trivial just to say "nah, can't be arsed", and then I'd stop banging on about it

* he doesn't care that the same git is clunging up our lovely little community with trolly bulls**t. Again, fair enough. But tell us that's it?

* he doesn't think the alt accounts are actually the same person. Now that would be interesting. Would be good to hear the reasoning.

The standard ignore list really isn't sufficient. But the scum filter would be.
