True it might not be ideal for Green, but what exactly is the point of the tour ?
Eriksson has to learn something about his fringe players, or the whole exercise will be completely pointless.
What happens if Robinson is still injured and then James picks up a knock playing up front for Man City just before the next qualifier? Does Eriksson give Green his first cap then? Does he call up Ian Walker since he has a couple of caps?
International friendlies have to be used to learn something IMO, whether it be tactical with the first XI or to blood fringe players and see if they can cut it. Eriksson continually misuses friendlies as far as I can see.
