I think there is a difference between wanting to lose and thinking it may be for the best

long term if we lose. Mainly because we know what our board are like and that things need to be brought to a head. If they were not so stubborn and we had more faith in them to see a manager's failings and take swift action then it might be different.

The Burnley game that saw the end of Worthington was an example. That had been dragging on for ages with him picking up an occasional win to prolong the torture.

I felt the same about the West Ham home game last season. When we went behind at Carrow Road and they were all over us last season part of me wanted them to stuff us and thus force the board to take action over Hughton. That's not because I wanted us to lose but more because I thought Hughton being sacked would be in he best long term interests of the club. I still pooped for our second half comeback though because ultimately the fan instinct takes over again and its hard for any fan not to enjoy seeing a comeback like that from their team.

In the end though I would be interested in the views of posters on here as to whether for the long term future of the club it might have been better for the club if West Ham had got the second goal they deserved and beaten us that day?

I also consoled myself after the Reading home game with the thought that at least some good might come of it if it meant the end of Adams!
