Having just checked my own method with a dram of Ardberg

I would recommend picking a nice glass, grab your whiskey bottle, give it a good look and appreciate the fine bottle you have acquired, open the bottle and take a sniff from the top of said bottle - that's great, poor a decent sized shot into said glass, smell the fantastic aroma, swoosh it round a bit, then take a decent sized mouthful! Fantastic.
