And hasn't had or sounded out a better offer then he could quite easily stay and do what they want.

After all seems his bonus was financially performance related wasn't it? Nothing to do with results on the pitch so that would make even more sense. Nice little club, nice little place to live. ?1 million (plus bonus a year)
