My point is not that Worthy won't get all the money,

just that he won't get it all in one go. Apart from Chelsea (not that I'm suggesting he's going there!) and perhaps Wigan I can't think of any club that has the cash to pay ?7M all in one go. So Worthy would get a chunk in January, and another chunk in the summer, and then some based on appearances etc.
The probability is that he will be replaced with cheaper players so the scope for stage payments from our point of view is more limited.
If he goes it will be bad for the club. Lets hope he puts in match winning performances in the next two league games and the FA Cup game to make the board think very hard about selling what imo is the player that could salvage our season.
