I think you'll find most people will take negative views on board so long as:

a) you don't patronise them or post in an over condescending tone;

b) you don't describe anyone slightly differing in opinion as a "happy clapper";

c) you don't have a history of wind ups and trolling.

When it's a relentless combination of all three, I find it hard to take.
