They are reporting his remark literally

when it is clear, when you watch the clip, that it was a throwaway, exasperated exaggeration.

His fault for saying it... but it is pretty obvious he doesn't actually think he is actually three stones overweight.

A reasonable headline in the context of his remarks would have been "Adel Taarabt overweight and unfit to play- Harry Redknapp".

But this is funnier I suppose, even if it isn't true and was never intended to be.
