I agree with that. He'd no doubt say both were caused by the red mist but

The first punch could be considered instinctive. hitting or kicking someone in the head whilst unconscious/prone on the ground crosses a line which I think maybe justifies police involvement.

I know there are masses of questions as to where precisely you would draw that line but for me this one goes beyond.
