Legal advice on the stray dog act 1990.
Approx 6 weeks ago my dog escaped (husky). A pair of scruffy bastards brought him back in an estate car with a dog crate in the back.
They said they worked for the council as dog wardens and gave me the dog back on the spot.
Now, I just got an invoice from the council for ?73 (?25 stat fee, ?40 to the scruffy c**ts, ?8 VAT).
Q. am I legally obliged to pay up or can I tell the council 'tough luck' you've already gave the dog back.
