I think there's an issue with motivation for a game like this

when you play senior players who have not been playing in league games.

The kids were well up for the last cup match because it was their big chance to shine.

This lot must be a bit naffed off at being "league cup players" and can't have really relished the prospect of playing away at a League Two club being there one chance of "first team" football for the next couple of weeks, barring injuries to the first 11-14 players.
