It probably will. My view has changed as this campaign has gone on. I don't want a

yes vote as I fear the impacts it will cause in terms of de-stabilising the economy both sides of the border.

That said if we get a yes vote so be it - let them go off to their utopia because i have had enough and I have a feeling the Scots will be back to us with their begging bowl before very long. But if they do vote for independence then they mustn't be allowed to cherry pick. Independence means independence and not some sort of half way house.

Perhaps the one good thing that will come from all of this whatever the outcome of today's vote will be a heightened sense of English identity and a determination on the part of the English people to stick up for themselves. The sight of Brown, Cameron, Miliband and Clegg trying to buy off the Scots by making hasty promises they have absolutely no mandate to make has been sickening.
