I executed the greatest pass ever on that pitch.
It was open day and I was queuing in the River End area to take some penalties. There was a veterans' kick about happening in the middle third of the pitch, when suddenly Jeremy van Goss, no less, skewed one badly and the ball came directly to me. It took a while to arrive, so I had time to suss it out, but it had travelled 30 yards or so, so I could easily made a tit of myself passing it back to these gods, heroes of mine. I needn't have worried as I'm bloody good at football and had decent trainers on. So yeah, I hit it with my instep first time and curled it fully along the ground the 30 yards back to the nearest player. Who gave me a thumbs up and shouted "Good ball!" to which I replied "Cheers". It was only then I realised that I'd done a beautiful pass on the hallowed turf straight to the greatest passer I've ever seen there - Ian Crook. Needless to say, I pinged my penalties into the top corners whilst sporting a massive stonk-on.
