I was all for goal line technology as it was quick

this will create all kinds of problems though and some games will turn into a greater farce and will change the flow of the game. For example:

Southend (home) are on the attack against Nigel Worthington's unbeaten York City and are denied a penalty, the ball is cleared and within a few seconds York are 1-0 up but Southend want to appeal the decision, there is a two minute wait whilst the referee reviews his decision under pressure from the fans and players around him (this is if he does it on the pitch) and decides to give a penalty, Southend score to go 1 up instead. Oh and another angle shows there was actually no contact at all later on and the ref made the right call in the first place and he apologies later on in the week.

Now let's say this happens in the next World Cup final in injury time...
