Comedy is strange.............

In my opinion I don't think telling a racial joke makes a person a genuine racist.

Racist actions are what make a person a genuine racist.

I think its a huge mistake to lump in Malky with those who are genuine racists.
Someone who shouts a hateful remark at a football ground is not trying to be funny.

As the SF said in the telegraph article he said approx 90%+ in football would be guilty of the type of thing Malky has done........

Yet im sure there are almost no genuine racists in football. It would be almost impossible with every team being multicultural these days..

Sometimes jokes are made to elicit a reaction. That reaction is often in many forms be it funny, shocking or a combination of both.

The dog eating joke for instance is a theme that has been played out many times. Its more of a stereotypical joke than racial as there is some truth to the stereotype. (ie several parts of Asia eat cats and dogs)

I never understood why the same joke is racist if it involves non-Caucasians.

Do a Norfolk Accent = Funny
Do an Indian Accent = Racist

Both are stereotypical jokes.

Do an over the top black accent = racist
Play a character such as Ali-G = Funny

I think white guilt plays a part in various reactions.
