Don't know about the numbers, but I prefer the way it works in the UK
You always get your bank holidays tagged on to weekends, whereas in Belgium, because a lot of them are religious, they fall on the day they're supposed to fall on. For instance, we had two Thursdays off in May, and the next one, Armistice Day, will be a Tuesday. You have to take extra days off if you want an extended weekend.
I've just checked and apparently we get 10. Unfortunately, the Flemish/Walloon holidays don't apply in Brussels unless you work with a Flemish or Walloon employer.
