Sort of agree with you, although your logic implies it's impossible to sell a player too

cheaply. (ie, if you sell a player for a low fee, then that tells you he's not wanted by anyone and therefore fundamentally can't be of much use).

Don't think I completely buy that - sometimes the club and fans who own a plyer have inside information. (In this case, that although Pilks did little last season, and therefore interest in him was pretty low, he actually has lots of potential to be helpful in the champs...)
