I think rvw+hooper were bought to fight over one striking berth. The other was to have been qugliarella or whatever his name was and the one from the 'top club' we were going to loan......
They fell through and we had no plan b. At Xmas board thought we would limp home + they could replace Houghton before spending.
A hideous miscalculation reminiscent of chase not getting in cover for gunn in 94......
