Rooney as England Captain. What a ridiculous decision

Rooney would be a terrible choice in my opinion.

He has rarely demonstrated a profound knowledge of the game and is one of the laziest forwards in the squad, just watch him ambling around not bothering to tackle back.

We need someone who is a leader at that level, someone who can read the game and make subtle changes on the pitch by talking with players.

If Rooney is appointed it would smell of the old school, just appointed on seniority and not ability. Time now to build for the future, hopefully one which does not involve Welbeck either.
