Re: Maximo Park and other musical highlights...

Maximo Park album is a very close 2nd to Down In Albion. 8.5/10 there we go. Bloc Party is about 6.5/10 - I love half the album, the other half isn't worth listening to and the annoying thing is all the good tracks are all over the place with This Modern Love being their best work, saw them live start of the year, average at best they seemed to have got worst when I saw them early on in the summer of 2004.

The Rakes proved me wrong big time as I never rated them live but the album is excellent. Gutted Ambulance Ltd and Art Brut didn't get more coverage this year, criminally underrated. The Dears also put in one of my gigs of the year as did Arctic Monkeys (twice) and my favourite London band - Tigermoth.
