This morning I queued up at the Forum for over an hour and a half to find out about my
Grandad's First World War experience (There were members of staff from the Imperial War Museum there to help and you could search for free). Unfortunately I didn't get very far but I was glad I tried.
I would also love to know the name of the mine sweeper my dad worked on, clearing The Channel the day before D day.
Of course it would have been a lot simpler if I'd just paid a bit of attention to them both when they tried talking to me when I was growing up!
