that's the main issue

if he's on your land then legally you can get the fence removed.

You just need to prove he's on your land and that'll involve scrutinisng the title Deeds, getting the land registry out for their view, appointing a surveyor to determine exact boundaries etc.

Lots of hassle and money, even if you're in the right.

Could be easily cost a grand to sort it out, and that assumes it's a straightforward issue that he isn't able to challenge.

Lots of these stem from muppet solicitors using marker pens to draw boundaries on small scale maps so the boudnary line scales out as being a foot wide, or wonky rulers, and it's anyone's guess as to where the line should actually be. Everyone then thinks they are in the right, emotions and principles get involved, and you end up with a five figure sum court case that lasts for ages.

Unless it is very, very clear from the title deeds that he's got the boundary wrong, I'd say life's too short - spend the money on Cuprinol and clematis (just make sure you paint your side after he's painted his, so that your colours leak through onto his).

Record every instance of intimidation though, if that continues, as that'll be a police issue if it's signficant. It's not illegal to just be a c**t though.
