Agreed it's obviously a risk and many have failed.

But I don't think we got close to the right type of striker for our style of play.

You could say that Hooper/RVW were upgrades on a Jackson but the likelihood was that we would still need a strong target man to either play as a lone striker or to play in a two.

Surprised (and don't laugh) Hughton didn't look to a Zigic or a Deeney to fill that void left by Holt.
