Biggest problem yesterday was a lack of a deep lying playmaker
If you look at our midfield we lack someone to get the ball off the back four and build attacks.
Tettey/Johnson are holding midfielders with limited passing range.
Howson/Fer look like box to box types but neither demand the ball and dictate our play.
Only player close to this type of player is Fox and we know Hughton doesn't want that type of player in his midfield.
That's why we looked bereft of any ability to build attacks and resorted to useless punts upfield.
I'm not saying these players are easy to find but I'm not surprised we didn't look for an upgrade on Fox in the summer.
