Surely he'll be able to get more out of his strikers next season?

If not then surely he'd ditch them for new ones?
I know they're not the only issue but if they'd converted even just a modest ratio of the chances we've created in the games where we've been good enough to actually create anything, then we'd be in Southampton and Newcastle's position, or at least comfortably underneath them like Stoke and West Ham.
If we stay up then McN is definitely not sacking him but I'd like to think he'd read him the riot act about making things a lot easier on ourselves for the following season and then that would at least start to work or he'd be ditched for someone else to have a go. It would take a terrible start to the season for McN to do any ditching though.

Go down and he's out though, obviously. I don't think McN would give him the chance to bring us back up as being Prem was the be all and end all for McN and why stick with a manager that has lost that and allowed a team to capitulate enough to get relegated? If he can't keep us up then what hope has he in getting a demoralised, underperforming squad completely turned around and scrapping in a dog fight league where with 7 games to go there are still 10 teams with realistic aims of getting promoted? His big money buys were flops that got us dropped, so what faith would he have in him then spending the massive parachutes? His record of getting out of that league would not help him either as his record with what he currently has would override all his history with different set-ups.
