NBTTT campylobacter

Saw Charles + others experiences yesterday with various type of extreme bugs, not pleasant all.

I had a dose of campylobacter a few years ago. I?m sure it was from food I had cooked myself on a Friday night (think was a piece of chicken). I felt really bad on Saturday morning but no sickness or diarrhoea had appeared so I played hockey Saturday lunchtime but was completely listless and hardly contributed to the game.

But it was back at the clubhouse after the game that it started to get to me. I got these huge shakes in my arms, remember trying to grip my fists together to stop it and it getting so bad my whole body was all over the place. I couldn?t possible drive so I left my car and the goal keeper in our team (who was a cabby) got me back home. It then started coming out of both ends for quite a while.

On Monday I went to see the doctor. I left a sample and the next morning at 9.00am I was contacted by the local area health authority (or whatever they were called) to ask me where I had been, what I had eaten etc as I had a notifiable disease.

I think I lost ? stone in a week, but it took two weeks to recover properly.
