Not because its Villa necessarily but just because our team is pretty devoid of creativity, so on paper we still need him in the squad. That's assuming we can get him to play now he's spat the dummy out - but he's meant to be a professional after all.

If we really are digging our heels in just because its Villa and we want to f**k them off, then yeah, absolutely that's a bit ridiculous. We should still remember though that they are a direct rival so I guess its just like a top 4 team not wanting to sell a player to a rival. Was pretty unsual for Chelsea to sell Mata to United but the money was worth it for them I guess.

If it was Newcastle say who we had a beef with over a Lambert-esque situation then it would make no sense I agree.
