Well, today didn't go as badly as I feared - expected, even, but it's still a defeat

and yes we did come back into the game, after it was pretty much lost, as we have before, and once again we never salvaged anything.

Not much has changed after today's game. So here's the thing: when did Hoots last surprise you with his tactics, or setup, or approach? Exactly, and he won't be surprising the oppo either. This is it, this is how it's going to be. People seeing progress are, I believe, seeing what they'd like to think is progress, but it isn't, it's slow degeneration, and all we're hoping for is that we'll get worse slower than three others. We're not sleepwalking toward relegation, because 'sleepwalking' implies forward motion.

Time for action. Now, not because we've lost another game, but because it's the window. i say give Micky Phelan to the end of the season, and if he's bobbins, try and get this Udinese bloke in and give him a go at it. It's a risky plan, but so is doing nowt and expecting things to improve.
