Was watching MOTD last night and thought

(and yes, this is subjective but....) the quality of the lower sides this year appears to be worse than last year.

Last season we had Reading who were doomed but QPR who had money and Wigan who were always capable of pulling something out of the bag. Other clubs had an element of quality which made survival a real nailbiter.

This season we're shrouded in complete dross. WBA and Villa may come good but Fulham, West Ham, Cardiff, Palace, Sunderland are all awful. Three of them have shot themselves in the foot - West Ham in being reliant on an injured player, Sunderland in allowing a crazy man to overhaul the squad, and Cardiff in having a megalomaniac who nobody wants to work for.

When you look at it like that, i don't think there's any excuse for us to be amongs tthese sides. We were the club who had the clean slate - the debt gone, the ?30m of investment. We should be pulling away from this, not sitting amongst it.
