I agree absolutely

But I'd suggest that retrospective action needs to be taken to the rules to prevent the ref being put in such a ridiculous position again rather than expect him to deal with it there and then. It's just not realistic and the amount of subsequent debate as to what should have or shouldn't have happened shows its a grey area in the rules.
