I also wonder about the financing for it. It seems as though the club will basically take out a mortgage for the ?30 million they need and then pay it back gradually.
However, if we are not planning to build it in the short term future, could we not start saving up at least some of this money. Maybe 2m a year (or more) and after 5 years you might have a bit of a cash pot to put towards stand without having to borrow all of it.
The clubs strategy of putting all the spare cash into the team is admirable but could we maybe take a couple of million a year out of the fairly massive playing budget to save for a stand - or even as an emergency transfer fund if we wanted to splurge on a top player at some point in the future. Having said that, the pressure to spend the money on players if things weren't going too well would probably be pretty high.
