for initial purchase means you've in theory accounted for the hit you take at the other end.

My concerns were more around, if when I come to sell it in 4/5 years will garages accept it as a part exchange for a new car, baring in mind they will find it more difficult to shift.

Also what would the insurance implications be. I know I have to declare that it was cat d, but will premiums be significantly higher?
