And obviously it is far preferable to be where we are now than struggling at the bottom the Championship.
However, to compare almost every situation we find ourselves in now with when we were at our lowest ebb in 50 years suggests that you think any standard of performance is acceptable and gives the team a free pass no matter what.
McNally and Lambert have got us back here and just being better than we were at Charlton is not exactly the standard that we should be seeking to attain.
