Someone from Norwich or not - just ask for directions somewhere. Someone from Norwich will give you directions based on landmarks that used to be there.

"Just past the old Radio Norfolk building on Surrey St"

"Opposite the old swimming pool"

"Just next door to where Bonds used to be". That's my favourite, that one. Don't use the current landmark there - one of the biggest retail chains in the UK. No, say what it used to be instead.
