he's the sort of player that Liverpool might have tried to buy a couple of years ago
but with less of a track record. I don't rate Downing at all, but he's better the Pilkington and has proven himself in a prem (albeit ages ago now)
He's definitely not the sort of player Liverpool would even consider now, even if he ever way (which he probably wasn't)
Pilks = good player though - just hope he finds some consistancy
