The way I see it is...

...the ref was to blame for giving a VERY soft penalty that, at a very base level, was the difference between 0-0 and 0-1. In addition, if he were to apply the same levels of what is/isn't a foul, I felt the foul on Turner that led to the sending off should also have been a penalty (although would also have been soft).

That said, the ref's inadequacies to apply the same level of consistency at different ends of the pitch does not mask the fact that, after about the 10th minute, we were shocking and couldn't do the basics right.

If I was one of a number of players today, I would be worried for my my place. And that includes previously undroppable players.
