We just didn't seem to be able to pass the ball quick enough to create chances

It was always play a couple of passes in the middle, then back to defence, then out wide, wait for the fullback to overlap etc. until the attack fizzled out, or a bad cross was put in.

It was hugely frustrating to watch because like you say, we just couldn't pick the lock and for me, we never really looked like doing it, all to predictable.

Suppose it just highlighted the fact that at times when Wessi isn't on his game, we struggle to have someone in the middle that can unlock a defence with one ball. I'm sure if we've got ?10m spare we can pick someone up who can do that...
