Wes Productivity

Unfortunately last season I felt Wes regularly frustrated our fluidity and speed of moving the ball into attacking areas. This coupled with the frequency of being dispossessed made him an ineffective player at this level. He had a great televised game for Ireland but his performance continued in the games I watched against the Greeks and yesterday.
Is three Prem goals and more importantly only three assists in 25 starts and 8 sub appearances VFM or has he become a luxury player?
Personally I think he will see far less minutes this season and be largely a "cup" player .... But I often get it wrong!
