Even if the rumours were true (and plainly there's little or no substance to them) why would it be an acceptable excuse for the poor performances? We all have problems in life, many people go through divorce and relationship problems but the reality is that you just get on with your job. In fact football should be a very good way of forgetting about personal problems.
