How would the pitches at other enclosed grounds survive if that were the case?

I know the Millenium Stadium has those mucky great holes in each corner, which I remember hearing some architect waffle on about providing ventilation for the pitch when the roof is shut. But what about places like Pride Park, Stadium of Low Turn-outs, I mean Light?
