The modern internet football fan has enough trouble accepting English players. A few days ago there was more of a FUCK REDMOND attitude when it was "reported" that he wanted to go to Everton or Swansea over us. It was obviously bulls**t with no actual quotes to attribute to the player as far as I could tell. This is the same situation but as SiH says, double translated conjecture.
