It was just a joke of the kind I would be sharing with Ipswich-supporting friends
if we were still on the playground. It's not a deeply held conviction by which I run my life. If the tables were turned you can be sure they'd be saying the same.
As for the actual game I could see advantages and disadvantages - the policing costs would have been huge for a non-serious game and the concept of a "friendly" derby doesn't really compute for me. The game needs to mean something.
