It's not that Wigan are small

But rather that their success and journey from obscurity to cup winners was only made possible by one man bankrolling them. Without that, they'd be we'll down the leagues.

Support wise, all the Wiganers I know ate Rugby League mad but aren't bothered about the football side. They get more fans for the Wigan-St Hekens RL derby that all bar a handful of Latics matches.

Also, it's good to see an end to their habit of scraping to survival year after year. Their time is up for now - it will be interesting to see if they bounce back. I have a hunch they won't
